Young Adults and College Students

College-aged programs focus on the complex elements of wilderness travel and field-based experiential education through an expeditionary model of self-sufficiency, field studies, wilderness first aid and medicine, and professional canoe and ocean navigation instruction.

How it works

Travel from Home to Wrangell, Alaska

Fly from home to Wrangell, Alaska- serviced multiple times daily by Alaska Airlines.

Your guides will pick you up at the airport, and shuttle you to your lodging.

Prepare for your Adventure

After you arrive, we will spend the night in Wrangell preparing for the expedition.

You will be outfitted with any items and clothes you were unable to bring with you from home.

10 Days in the Wild

We are transported by jet-boat from Wrangell to one of our backcountry base-camps for our first night.

You will learn paddling skills to help prepare you for the upcoming expedition, and get used to using all your camp equipment.

After we leave our base-camp, you will spend the rest of the trip paddling and exploring Southeast Alaska.

Return Home

On our last day, we are picked up by the jet-boat, and transported back to Wrangell.

Catch a flight home that evening, or spend the night in Wrangell and travel home the following day.

Students are empowered to challenge themselves and take initiative as leaders.

Students will be encouraged to engage with
time management, navigation, and group cohesion responsibilities.

Guides will strive to inspire curiosity, inquiry, divergent perspectives, and an
overall sense of exploration within the group.

Education

These programs integrate marine biology, mariculture and aquaculture, environmental science, natural resource management, and zoology.
